Hang Seng Index Rises Again, Led by Xiaomi
The Hang Seng Index rose 1% to 25,207.18 on Monday (July 27th) in Hong Kong trading. This gain followed a 1% decline in the previous session.
Xiaomi shares were the biggest driver of the index's rise and recorded the highest movement. The technology company's shares surged 7.3%.
The market's gains were broad-based. Of the 93 stocks in the Hang Seng Index, 70 rose, while 22 fell.
Three of the four major sectors rose, led by trade and industrial stocks. The dominance of these rising stocks indicates that market sentiment in Hong Kong is improving after the pressure in the previous session.
