US Stocks Mixed, Nvidia Eyed
Stocks in the US were mixed to kick off the new week, with the S&P 500 trading around the flatline, the Dow Jones losing around 60 points while the Nasdaq was up 0.2%. This followed a pullback in the three major indexes from their recent all-time highs as the post-election rally showed signs of fading.
Traders now eagerly await quarterly results from Nvidia on Wednesday, specially any guidance about the company’s demand for its Blackwell AI. Nvidia's shares dropped about 2% amid reports that its new AI chips are overheating in servers.
Meanwhile, Tesla shares surged 5.7% after Bloomberg reported that members of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team are considering making a federal framework for fully self-driving vehicles a priority for the Transportation Department. Investors are also closely monitoring Trump's policy plans and key political appointments.
