Hong Kong Equities Rise Modestly
Hong Kong stocks rose 116 points, or 0.5%, to 20,710 in early deals on Tuesday after a quiet session the previous day, boosted by gains in most sectors, especially technology, consumer discretionary and financials.
A winning session on Wall Street Monday supported sentiment, with investors preparing for the US election, key economic data, and more earnings results. Traders were also relieved by lower crude oil prices as weekend airstrikes from Israel towards Iran avoided energy infrastructure.
