Hong Kong Stocks Continue Rising Hong Kong shares rose 148 points, or 0.7%, to 20,647 in early trade on Wednesday, rising for a second straight session as gains were spread across sectors. Traders were optimistic after several local financial institutions in China on Tuesday tapped a swap facility from the People’s Bank of China to revive the stock market.
Locally, annual inflation in Hong Kong hit a three-month low of 2.2% in September while underlying inflation eased to 0.9%. In the short term, overall inflation will remain low, a government spokesman said.
