Stocks in Europe Rise
The STOXX 50 added 0.4% and the STOXX 600 gained 0.3% on Wednesday, rebounding from losses on Tuesday, led by gains in retailers and banks. Shares of Inditex soared around 4% after the company reported strong sales between August and September. Also, Commerzbank jumped almost 17% after the German government sold part of its stake in the bank to Unicredit.
Shares of the Italian lender were also in the green (1.9%). Other top performers were Kering (2.4%), ASML Holding (2.3%), Societe Generale (2.2%), Adidas (1.7%) and Banco Santander (1.8%). Meanwhile, traders brace for the US inflation report due later in the day and the ECB's upcoming monetary policy decision tomorrow.
