Trump to travel domestically to promote economic agenda
U.S. President Donald Trump will increase his domestic travel before the end of 2025 to promote his economic agenda and highlight efforts to improve affordability, a senior White House official said Monday.
The president is expected to further ramp up his travel schedule at the beginning of 2026 as he continues efforts to combat inflation and higher prices that have frustrated Americans and negatively impacted his approval ratings in recent months.
"The president knows he has a proven economic formula that works. It did in his first term," the White House official said on background. "It’s just going to take more time, because unlike in his first term, he inherited the worst inflationary crisis in modern history."
While no firm schedule has been released for Trump’s domestic events, potential stops could include Las Vegas, where he first announced plans to cut taxes on tips during the 2024 presidential election. The official noted that any events would be large, campaign-style gatherings held indoors due to security concerns following the assassination of podcaster Charlie Kirk and two attempts on Trump’s life during the campaign.
During these appearances, Trump plans to highlight his economic agenda, including tax cuts, limits on taxes for overtime pay, and recent initiatives to lower prescription drug prices.
The White House official also indicated that Trump could make new announcements related to healthcare costs soon, stating: "You will see more in the healthcare space from the president in the coming days and weeks, for sure." No specific details about these potential healthcare announcements were provided.
