Trump Tries to Stabilize Dollar
US President-elect Donald Trump seems to have slightly eased his tariff policy, which can be seen by the increasing openness of the United States to negotiation efforts from several countries in the world, especially from Asia, such as what has happened to Japan, South Korea and India.
Through his Finance Minister, Scott Bessent said that for India itself, America is very close to reaching a tariff and trade agreement while with Japan and South Korea Bessent said he had held substantial talks with Japan and made a good agreement contour with South Korea.
On another occasion Bessent also said "We have 18 important trade relationships, we will talk to all of those partners, or at least 17 of them, over the next few weeks. Many of them have come to Washington," Bessent said. He later said during a briefing that trade relations with the 17 partners were "underway," a list that excludes China.
With the steps that are considered to be tending to soften from the American government, it is hoped that the US dollar will strengthen again after experiencing a significant decline in the last few months and also other effects from the stabilization of the world economy will reduce the price of gold which has skyrocketed due to the trade war.
