Hang Seng Index dips by 86 points, tech stocks adjust
The Hang Seng Index started lower by 86 points or 0.36% to reach 24,061 points; the H-share index dropped by 38 points or 0.43%, settling at 8,670 points; while the technology index declined by 25 points or 0.47%, ending at 5,300 points.
Tech stocks exhibited weakness with Tencent falling by 0.1%; Alibaba by 0.8%; Meituan by 0.5%; Xiaomi Group by 0.7%; and Kuaishou by 0.3%.
Financial stocks trended downwards with HSBC Holdings declining by 0.2%; Prudential by 0.2%; Ping An by 0.3%; and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing by 0.2%.
Henderson Land issued HK$8 billion in secured convertible bonds, resulting in a 4.9% drop in its stock price.
