European Stocks Hit New Record!
European stock markets rallied sharply, reaching record highs during Friday's trading session (July 31). The STOXX 50 index rose 1.1%, while the STOXX 600 gained 0.9%, tracking a global rally in technology stocks.
The market gains were driven by renewed optimism surrounding the artificial intelligence sector. Falling oil prices and positive corporate earnings reports also boosted investor sentiment.
Technology stocks were the primary market drivers. ASML rose 3.4%, Infineon surged 6.8%, STMicroelectronics gained 4.1%, and Siemens Energy rose 3.6%.
In the financial sector, NatWest climbed 3.8% after posting a 29% rise in pre-tax profit, beating expectations. Crédit Agricole also rose 3.6% after reporting increased profits for the second quarter.
Saint-Gobain shares rose 4.8% following an acceleration in sales growth, while Engie gained 4.2% on the back of higher profits. Worldline was among the top performers, surging nearly 19% after releasing its financial results.
Newsmaker Analysis: The new record in European markets indicates renewed investor interest in technology and AI stocks. However, the rally remains contingent on corporate performance, energy price trends, and European central bank interest rate policies.(asd)*
