China Condemns US-Israel Attack on Iran: "Violates International Law"
The Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly criticized the United States and Israel for the attack on Iran. Beijing believes the military action risks widening the conflict and expressed concern about the spillover impact to the wider region.
In its statement, China emphasized that Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity must be respected. Beijing also urged an immediate halt to military operations and urged all parties to avoid any steps that could further escalate the situation.
China also reiterated its principled position: rejecting the use of force in international relations and promoting a resolution through dialogue and negotiation. Broadly speaking, Beijing wants diplomatic channels to be reopened as soon as possible to prevent the situation from escalating into a larger regional conflict.
This stance was reinforced by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's message, calling the attack "unacceptable" and calling for a ceasefire. For the market, China's tough tone was interpreted as a signal that geopolitical tensions remain high—which typically maintains volatility, particularly in oil, the dollar, and safe-haven assets like gold.
