US Retail Stalls in December, Increasing Market Sensitive
Retail sales were unchanged month-on-month in December, compared with the median estimate of +0.4%, according to Census Bureau data. The range of estimates was -0.2% to +0.7% from 65 economists. November retail sales were unchanged at +0.6%. Retail sales minus autos were unchanged month-on-month in December. Retail sales minus autos and gasoline were unchanged. Control group retail sales fell 0.1%. Excluding food services, auto dealers, building materials, and gas stations (alg).
