Gold Remains Volatile, Buy or Sell?
The spot gold price (XAU/USD) is currently around $4.800/oz. Gold is attempting a slight recovery, but remains headed for weekly losses due to risk-off markets (pressure on technology stocks) and a strengthening US dollar—which typically makes gold more expensive for non-USD buyers.
From a fundamental perspective, the primary drivers remain a mix of global asset volatility and dollar/yield direction. Market expectations still see the possibility of two Fed rate cuts in 2026 (starting around June), but in the short term, a stronger dollar is holding back gold's recovery. The 10-year US Treasury yield is also around 4.19%, so gold hasn't benefited much from the yield decline. (asd)
