Nikkei Rises 0.8%, Led by Autos, Financials
Japanese stocks rose in early trade as concerns about a Moody's downgrade of the U.S. rating eased. Autos and financials led the gains. Subaru rose 2.4%, Toyota Motor added 1.8% and Nomura Holdings gained 1.6%.
USD/JPY was at 145.08, compared with 145.10 at the close of the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday. Investors were watching for any developments related to U.S. tariffs. The Nikkei Stock Average was up 0.8% at 37,806.82.
