Nikkei Gains 0.2%, Led by Chip Stocks
Japan's Nikkei Stock Average is up 0.2% at 38257.01 as gains in chip stocks help offset losses in auto shares.
Advantest is up 4.0% and Kioxia Holdings is 2.0% higher. SoftBank Group is up 5.7% after fiscal-year net profit beat analysts' estimates. Meanwhile, Nissan Motor is down 2.3% after it posted a fourth-quarter net loss.
Broader market index Topix is down 0.3% at 2764.99. USD/JPY is at 147.64, compared with 147.94 as of Tuesday's Tokyo stock market close.
Investors are focusing on earnings, with Sony Group scheduled to announce its results later in the day.
