Nikkei Rises 0.6%, Led by Electronics
Japanese stocks ended higher amid easing concerns about trade tensions between the U.S. and its trading partners. Brokerage and electronics shares led the gains. Nomura Holdings rose 3.8% after its nine-month net profit more than doubled. Renesas Electronics jumped 13% after its fourth-quarter results.
The Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.6% to 39,066.53. USD/JPY was at 152.64, compared with 152.60 at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Investors were closely watching developments on U.S. tariffs.
