Hang Seng Index opens lower with transportation stocks on decline
The Hang Seng Index opened 110 points lower or 0.45% at 24,109 points, while the H-share index fell by 39 points or 0.43% to 8,911 points, and the technology index dropped by 37 points or 0.63% to 5,799 points.
In the tech sector, Tencent saw a 0.2% decline, Alibaba dropped by 1.4%, Meituan rose by 0.4%, Xiaomi Group increased by 0.1%, JD.com Group was up by 0.8%, and Kuaishou fell by 1.3%.
Financial stocks displayed a general softness, with HSBC Holdings decreasing by 1.3%, AIA Group remaining stable, Ping An Insurance falling by 1%, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing dropping by 0.9%.
Transportation stocks experienced a downturn, with BYD Company's shares falling by 2.6%, Geely Auto dropping by 0.7%, XPeng Inc. declining by 5.9%, NIO Inc. falling by 3.2%, and Li Auto sliding by 1.5%.
Following suit, CK Hutchison and Cheung Kong Group saw declines of 2.6% and 1.6% respectively.
