Hang Seng Index Drops 1.8%; Alibaba Leads Declines
The Hang Seng Index fell for a second day, dropping 1.8%, or 447.81, to 23,783.49 in Hong Kong. It was the biggest decline since it dropped 3.3% on Feb. 28.
Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. contributed the most to the index’s decline, dropping 3.9%. Shenzhou International Group Holdings Ltd. was the biggest decliner, dropping 5.4%.
On the day, 59 of 83 stocks fell, while 21 rose; all sectors fell, led by trade and industrial stocks.
