Hang Seng Index Rises 1.2%
The Hang Seng Index rose for the third day, climbing 1.2%, or 236.82 to 19,522.89 in Hong Kong.
The index advanced to the highest closing level since Jan. 6.
HSBC Holdings Plc contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 1.8%. China Hongqiao Group Ltd. had the largest increase, rising 5.6%.
Today, 66 of 83 shares rose, while 15 fell; all sectors were higher, led by commerce and industry stocks.
