Wall St falls at open after Trump threatens EU, Apple with fresh tariffs
Wall Street dropped at the open on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump recommended 50% tariffs on the European Union, while Apple slid after he warned the company would have to pay tariffs if its phones were not made in the United States.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 333.4 points, or 0.80%, at the open to 41525.7. The S&P 500 fell 60.1 points, or 1.03%, at the open to 5781.89, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 303.4 points, or 1.60%, to 18622.38 at the opening bell.
