European Stocks Climb to Fresh Record High
Stocks in Europe were higher on Wednesday, with the STOXX 50 rising 0.4% to hit a fresh high since 2000 and the STOXX 600 adding 0.2% to hit a new record level.
Traders digest fresh corporate results, await key inflation figures for the US and keep an eye on Trump's trade policies. Food and beverage was the top performing sector while oil and gas fell.
On the corporate front, shares of Heineken soared more than 11% after reporting a better-than-expected profit. Peer Anheuser-Busch also benefited, gaining about 4.7%.
Kering extended gains and soared more than 4%. Banco BPM was also up almost 2% after updating targeted profits and payouts for investors. On the other hand, shares of Siemens Energy were down more than 1% despite recording a record €131 billion order book.
