Dow Slides for a Seventh Straight Day for Longest Losing Streak Since 2020 |
The S&P 500 was little changed on Friday but is still on pace for its first weekly decline in four weeks.
The broad market index hovered around the flatline, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, meanwhile, fell 54 points, or 0.1%.
For the week, the Dow is heading for a 1.8% decline, while the S&P 500 is on pace for slide of about 0.7%. The latter is on pace to end a three-week winning streak. The Nasdaq is on track to be about 0.3% higher for the period.
“We’re kind of stuck in this trading range,” Jay Hatfield, CEO at Infrastructure Capital Advisors, told CNBC. “The Nasdaq will outperform, small caps will underperform, [and the] Dow will underperform till we get some catalyst.”
