Techology stocks pull down Wall Street ahead of inflation data
Wall Street's main indexes slipped on Monday as declines in AI powerhouse Nvidia pressured tech stocks, while investors awaited a key inflation report this week.
Chipmaker Nvidia (NVDA.O), opens new tab lost 3.1% after China's market regulator said it had opened an investigation into the company over suspected violation of the country's antimonopoly law, sending the information technology sector (.SPLRCT), opens new tab down 0.4%.
At 11:26 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI), opens new tab fell 94.95 points, or 0.22%, to 44,547.57, the S&P 500 (.SPX), opens new tab lost 27.02 points, or 0.44%, to 6,063.25, and the Nasdaq Composite (.IXIC), opens new tab lost 96.30 points, or 0.48%, to 19,763.66.
