US Stocks End Nearly Flat
Wall Street closed Friday's session (February 13th) nearly flat, as a cooler US inflation release wasn't strong enough to restore risk appetite amid volatility surrounding the AI/data center capex theme. Index proxies showed limited movement: SPY +0.03%, DIA +0.12%, and QQQ +0.18% at the close/end of the session.
The main pressure still came from mega-cap and chip stocks sensitive to the AI spending narrative: Nvidia -2.23%, Apple -2.33%, Alphabet -1.07%, Meta -1.54%, and Broadcom -1.82%.
On the other hand, the market also saw "winners" from the earnings reports: Salesforce +2.31% and Oracle +2.33% gained, while Applied Materials +8.05% and Arista Networks +4.77% surged after positive investor responses.
