U.S. dollar ticks up
The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.1 percent to 108.168 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.0420 U.S. dollars from 1.0418 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.2324 dollars from 1.2328 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 156.52 Japanese yen, higher than 155.56 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar declined to 0.9061 Swiss francs from 0.9066 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.4371 Canadian dollars from 1.4335 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar rose to 10.9945 Swedish Kronor from 10.9930 Swedish Kronor.
