Trump's Strong Signal: US Fleet Sent to Iran
US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (January 27) that the United States has a "large fleet" heading toward Iran. But he added one key line: he hopes the US won't have to use it. Trump called the fleet "very powerful" and even claimed it was larger than the one deployed during the operation in Venezuela.
This statement came during Trump's appearance on the radio program Sid & Friends (recorded Monday). In the same interview, he also touched on other issues, including the hostage situation in Gaza—indicating his global security focus is again being brought to the public stage.
Trump also touched on domestic tensions in Minneapolis. He said he had just spoken with Mayor Jacob Frey and called it a "great conversation," and said he had a "respectful" call with Frey and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Regarding New York City, Trump struck a pessimistic tone: he said the city was "heading in the wrong direction." Regarding Greenland, he only briefly commented that the situation was "developing well," without further details.
