Trump Declares End of Gaza War, But What Next?

US President Donald Trump declared the war in the Middle East officially over Monday as he began a visit to the region to formalize a peace deal for Gaza. Trump arrived in Tel Aviv to mark the release of Israeli hostages by Hamas after more than two years of captivity. Addressing the Israeli parliament (Knesset), Trump said Hamas would be disarmed and called the end of the conflict “the end of a long and painful nightmare” for both Israelis and Palestinians.

In his speech, Trump asserted that it was time for Israel to move from military victory to development and long-term peace. He also called for a peace deal with Iran, stating that “the hand of friendship is always open, even to Iran.” Trump affirmed that the US would assist in Gaza’s reconstruction efforts and the region’s economic recovery.

As part of the deal, Israel will release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, while 20 Israeli hostages will be released by Hamas. Trump praised the role of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Arab states, and senior advisers like Jared Kushner and Marco Rubio in achieving the ceasefire. Following his visit to Israel, Trump is scheduled to attend an international summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, with around 20 world leaders to finalize the Gaza peace deal.

While this agreement has been hailed as a major achievement in global diplomacy, analysts believe its impact on the global economy remains limited. However, if stability in the region increases and shipping disruptions in the Red Sea end, global logistics costs could decrease and market confidence could improve.

5 Key Points:

- Trump declares the end of the Middle East war during a visit to Israel and Egypt.

- Hamas agrees to disarm and release 20 Israeli hostages.

- Israel will release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners as part of the deal.

- Trump calls for peace with Iran and pledges to help reconstruct Gaza.

- The global economic impact remains limited, but regional stability could boost long-term optimism. (asd)
