Australia's Unemployment Rate Falls Below Forecast
Australia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.3% in October 2025, below market expectations of 4.4% and down from 4.5% in September, which was the highest unemployment rate since November 2021. The number of unemployed fell by 17,000 to 665,400. Meanwhile, employment increased by 42,200 to a record high of 14.68 million, exceeding forecasts for a 20,000 increase, following an upwardly revised 12,700 increase in September. (Asd)
